HI! I’M VICTORIA
An expert in creative translation and localisation. Since 2012, I help words written in English find a new home and settle into the Spanish-speaking world, as well as provide linguistic counseling on both original and translated texts.
I’ve got experience translating and localising, assessing and reviewing translations, coordinating teams of linguists and providing informed advice.
My fields of specialisation include: Literature, Arts and Humanities, Digital Marketing, Information and Communications Technology.
MY PATH TO NOW
I graduated as a Public Translator of English at the National University of Córdoba in Argentina and hold a Master’s degree in Literary and Humanistic Translation from ISTRAD, Spain. My academic foundations together with studies in writing and copy-editing have allowed me to work with global companies and organisations that demand the highest quality standards.
Considering myself a forever student, I’m committed to continuous professional development, to both build on my educational background in translation and stay in tune with the latest advances in my fields of specialisation and in the world of linguistics.
HOMING WORDS
In June 2024, my Homing Words identity evolved into a more collaborative endeavor, and launched a petite editorial initiative dedicated to translating and publishing literary works by female authors, with a current focus on contemporary writers.
I work in collaboration with trusted colleague translators. For every project, we put our passion, and all our knowledge and expertise to work. As Haruki Murakami puts it, “If something is worth doing, it is worth giving it your best — or in some cases even beyond your best.” Words that guide us throughout the entire journey of translating a book.
